Generium is a cultivated grass growing only in Calsimi’s Pass, due to the grass’s need for arid land to grow.
In the wild, Generium is a pinkish-yellow color, but it is usually only seen this way by the workers who farm the grass. Generium is processed directly in the field through a custom Calsimi-engineered machine that turns the grass a dulled yellow-brown color. It does not enhance or take away from the grass in any form, and is only used to “brand” the plant.
Every part of the plant is used in someway or another, and is the most traded item in the World.
Generium grain is a staple food used to make flour for breads, biscuits, cookies, cakes, cereal, and pasta. The grains can also be ground or used whole to create tea or fermentation to make ale or other alcohol.
Generium straw can be used as fodder for livestock or as a construction material for roofing thatch. Threads from the straw can be used to create linens and other clothing. An expensive blend of fine Generium thread and silk is used to create a line of clothing exclusively for Lords, Ladies, and Royalty (or those who can afford its high price tag.)
Generium root is used in a variety of herbal remedies and teas. The root is preserved in water and can be eaten, or when dried, it can be used as a spice or tobacco.
